House Call Pet Grooming is when a professional groomer bathes and styles your pet in the comfort of your own home. Your pet is getting the groomers’ full attention. There are no closed doors, no cages, no mysterious back-of-the-grooming salon, and no stress. The main benefit of grooming pets in their own home is how comfortable and relaxed they are to be in their own environment.
In-home grooming helps reduce the risk of contact with infectious diseases found in group settings.
A climate-controlled area that is NOT on carpet where I can groom your cat without distractions. Many people choose a guest bath, master bath, laundry room, or kitchen.
• A place to bathe your pet: a kitchen sink, utility sink in a laundry room or garage, or a bathtub works just fine. Please specify if this area has a detachable shower head.
Owners may be required to actively assist in ensuring the safe restraint of their pet throughout the grooming procedure to guarantee a secure and efficient experience.
Yes, I come with a dustpan and broom, disinfecting wipes, and a bag to dispose all the hair after the grooming session. Many clients provide me with a handheld vacuum to use.
Sessions generally range from 45 to 120 minutes, depending on your cat’s coat condition and temperament. I prioritize your cat’s comfort and safety, working at their pace to ensure a calm experience. Grooming may be paused or discontinued if the safety of your pet or myself is at risk.
Yes, proof of rabies is required.
Don’t be discouraged if your cat cannot receive all services in one day.
It is not uncommon for a cat to be unable to complete all grooming services in a single session. Cats are naturally independent and may find the grooming process overwhelming, especially if they are not used to it.
To ensure a positive experience, I tailor each session to suit your cat’s individual needs and comfort level. If your cat is not ready, we can always try again another time and work gradually toward building their comfort with grooming.
Your cat’s well-being is always my highest priority. If your cat shows signs of significant stress, panic, or discomfort, I will discontinue the grooming session to ensure their safety and emotional health.
Owners should ensure their pets are well-rested and have relieved themselves before the appointment.
If your cat has any special needs, health conditions, or sensitivities, be sure to inform me prior to the visit.
A lion cut is a grooming style for cats where the fur on the body is shaved very close to the skin, leaving longer fur around the head, neck, and sometimes on the lower legs and tail tip. This style is especially popular for long-haired cats that are prone to matting or hairballs, and it also helps with keeping them cool.
There are a few reasons why a lion cut might be useful.
The main reason cats get a lion cut is to remove matted fur. When tangles can’t be brushed out, shaving is the safest option. Mats can irritate or damage the skin and cause increasing discomfort or pain if not treated.
Less Hair Ingestion
Cats swallow hair while grooming themselves. Giving them a lion cut significantly lowers the amount of hair they ingest, which helps reduce hairball formation.
Aging cats that no longer groom themselves. Some cats, as they get older, or some that don’t really care to groom themselves.
Esthetics! There are a small number of cat owners that simply like the look of the lion cut on their cat.
Most cats aren’t too happy with the grooming process involved in a lion cut, but many enjoy how it feels once it’s done.
Nail caps for cats are small, soft covers—usually made of vinyl or silicone—that are glued onto a cat's claws.
Prevents Self-Injury
Some cats with skin conditions or behavioral issues may scratch themselves excessively. Nail caps can reduce harm from self-scratching.
Maintains Natural Behavior
Cats can still go through the motions of scratching, which is important for their physical and mental health. The caps just dull the sharpness.
Alternative to Declawing
Nail caps are a humane option compared to declawing, which is a painful and permanently disabling procedure.
Reduced Risk of Scratches
Elderly: Seniors often have thinner, more fragile skin, which can be easily injured by accidental cat scratches. Nail caps blunt the sharp claws, helping prevent injuries.
Children: Young kids may not understand how to properly handle cats, leading to unintentional roughness. Nail caps help prevent painful or harmful scratches during play.
